COVID-19 Policies & Procedures

Please review the following new Policies & Procedures that have been put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  New procedures are mostly state-mandated, and must be followed both by myself as your therapist and you as my client.  If you cannot abide by the following please reconsider scheduling with me, as these are non-negotiable.  Please make special note of the NOTICE TO ALL CLIENTS at the bottom of the page.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
  • If you have recently traveled out of New York state, you are required to follow the current quarantine guidelines.  If you have an appointment already scheduled that will fall within the quarantine period, please call to cancel or reschedule.  You will not be charged any fees for rescheduling or canceling sessions due to COVID-19.
  • Within two weeks of your scheduled appointment, please call to cancel or reschedule your session if you:
    • have any respiratory, cold, or flu-like symptoms;
    • have tested positive for COVID-19;
    • have come into contact with someone presenting with symptoms;
    • or have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19;
    • You will not be charged any fees for rescheduling or canceling sessions due to COVID-19.
  • Please take your temperature 24-48 hours before your appointment.  If your temperature is over 100°, please call to cancel or reschedule your appointment.  You will not be charged any fees for rescheduling or canceling sessions due to COVID-19.
  • If at all possible, please use your restroom at home before arriving to your appointment.  As the business is run out of my home, the less surfaces touched the better.
  • Only scheduled clients will be allowed to enter; please do not bring spouses, children, friends, etc., as they will not be allowed inside.
UPON ARRIVAL
  • You must be wearing a face mask.  If you do not have one, you may purchase one from me for $1.  If you refuse to wear a face mask, your appointment will be canceled and you will be sent home.
  • Please leave any non-essentials in your vehicle if possible.
  • Your temperature will be taken with an infrared no-touch forehead thermometer upon arrival.  If your temperature is over 100°, you will be sent home and your appointment will be rescheduled at least two weeks out.
  • Please remove shoes immediately upon entering and leave them on the mat by the door.
  • A hand sanitizer station is set up within the entryway.  Please immediately sanitize your hands after removing your shoes. 
  • Proceed directly into the treatment room from the sanitizer station.
  • A COVID-19 pre-screen form must be filled out for your appointment.  This will be waiting for you in the treatment room.  If you wish to print and fill this form out before your appointment and bring it with you, please click this link:

PROCEDURES FOR APPOINTMENTS
  • All pre- and post-appointment interviews and related business will now be conducted within the treatment room, including payment.
  • During your session, you MUST be wearing a face mask while you are face up on the table.  You are allowed to remove the mask when face down, but must immediately put it back on when turning face up or when the appointment has ended.
  • When you have dressed, please open the door and wait for me to rejoin you.  Post-appointment business, including re-booking and payment, will be done within the treatment room.
  • Unfortunately, there can be no chit-chatting and catching up before or after appointments at this time.  Please gather your things and depart as soon as your appointment and all post-appointment business has concluded.
PAYMENT
  • While I am still gladly accepting all forms of payment, the following are going to be the safest way to pay for the foreseeable future:
    • Check
    • Card (credit/debit, Health/Flex Savings)
    • Electronic (PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Apple Pay)
THERAPIST & CLEANING PROCEDURES
For client peace of mind, I am including my professional protocols and cleaning procedures below:
  • I am getting tested regularly to ensure the safety of my clients.  If I were to test positive for the virus,  all clients that I have seen within two weeks will be contacted and notified, and all clients for at least the next two weeks will be rescheduled for health and safety reasons.
  • I am required to wear a face mask and apron for all appointments.  Face masks and aprons will be changed out between clients to ensure the safety of all clientele and avoid any potential cross-contamination.
  • There will be a minimum of 1 hour between appointments for proper cleaning and sanitation.
  • Table linens will be removed and immediately put into the washing machine after each session has ended.
  • The following surfaces will be cleaned/disinfected before/after each appointment:
    • Doorbell, all door handles, staircase railing, bathroom countertop and sink, toilet, all surfaces within treatment room (chairs, table and headrest, top of corner bookcase, shelves, etc.), clipboard and pen, emollient holster and containers
  • Treatment room window will be open during appointments for air circulation when possible, or opened between appointments when not.
  • Treatment room will be vacuumed and trafficked areas will be mopped at the end of each day.

NOTICE TO ALL CLIENTS
The health and safety of all my clientele, as well as my own, is my utmost priority during this difficult time.  Please be honest about any travel that you have done, any symptoms that you may be experiencing, COVID-19 test results, and any contact you may have had with possibly-infected persons; as stated above, you will not incur any penalties if you need to reschedule or cancel your session(s) due to COVID-19.  It saddens me to say, however, that other therapists and service professionals have experienced clients being dishonest about these things, summarily putting the health and well-being of not only the therapist/service professional but all of their clients at risk.  With that being said, if I discover that you were dishonest about travel, contact, symptoms, and/or test results, I will have no choice but to remove you from my client list and you will no longer be able to book any services with me.
